Blood Donation Camp at YMTDC

Well, not exactly today...but 10 days back on the 15th of Dec., many of us did. The Dept. of Transfusion Medicine, ACTREC, Tata Memorial Centre, Kharghar organized a blood donation camp at our auditorium and collected more than 50 units in all. It was a hard day's work for the medical team involved but also a job very well done. Many thanks to all our student and staff donors and also to our Dean, Dr. Kokate for facilitating a charitable event.
Good Work!

YMTDC salutes India's heroes...

The staff and students of YMTDC came together last Friday to express solidarity with the martyrs of the recent terrorist attacks. A poignant candle-light vigil and a terrific street play by our IInd BDS students made the occasion one for introspection about onself and country. A moment of silence in honour of the brave victims brought the ceremony to a close with more than 500 candles being lit in all...
The pictures that follow capture a gathering that remembered the fallen heroes and unfortunate victims of MUMBAI 26/11.
Let us be more vigilant today to be sure that those three fateful days never happen again.
Jai Hind !

ARTIST EXTRAORDINAIRE...VISHAL RATHOD

Last week YMTDC came together to remember the martyrs of Mumbai 26/11. The centerpiece of this gathering was, as every camera in that lobby clicked, a painstakingly drawn rangoli by our colleague VISHAL RATHOD.
What follows is a collage of Vishal's rangolis and art'n'craft work through the years both at YMTDC and outside... You ought to save these to your disks...
Ladies and gentlemen, we have a Picasso in our midst...Here's to Vishal !

Impressionz '09 needs YOUR help !!!

Ppl, a lot of hard work goes into the making of an event like our fest and its about time everyone chipped in.
We need volunteers to help us do some helter-skelter-running-around,
We need people with contacts who can spare us a buck or two,
We need folks who can write a page for our magazine and blog,

We need, above all, a gung-ho student body that thinks it can help us in any way possible!

Its time to do your bit to make the upcoming fest a memorable one for everyone involved.
And btw, let me repeat "We need people with contacts who can spare us a buck or two".

WORK WITH US!

AN INTRODUCTION TO DENTAL IMPLANTS...

The Department of Prosthodontics conducted a lecture and demonstration on 'Dental Implants' on 21.11.2008 for the benefit of Final BDS students and Interns. Here is a collage of pictures from that session...

UNITED

Today, we mourn. Today, we grieve. Today, we extend our sympathy. But more importantly, today… we unite. We come together in strength and force, to prove our solidarity and to show everyone that we will not tolerate this any longer. If there are people that can come into our country, attack our people, our administrative forces and take our entire city hostage, then we will not back down from any means that involve preventing this from happening in the future.
Lets get together on Friday, the 5th of December,in the main lobby of college at 10am,to light a candle-in mourning,in protest,in solidarity and in memory.
Candles will be sold in the main lobby, from Tuesdays onwards, for a minimum of Rs.10/-.
Feel free to pitch in with more,as proceeds go to families of the constables who laid down their lives during the attack.
I look forward to your whole-hearted participation,so that YMTDC can do its bit.
